You may need support as you go through this. Don’t underestimate the support you need to quit.

As you quit, know that there are many other people in your position, every day in the whole world and your never alone.

If you drink heavily, talk to a doctor in preparation to quit to see if you need any medication. These are multivitamins and seizure preventing medication.

You can notify someone close that your quitting alcohol so that they can support you and even check on you, incase you need medical help.

If you can afford, to go into rehab you can plan to detox in one.

There are free support groups like ALCOHOL ANONYMOUS that meet in different parts of the country.
